iSeeMedia ZOOM 2D Viewer v4.02 Readme

The iSeeMedia ZOOM 2D Flashpix Viewer lets you view Flashpix (FPX) images, as well as zoom in and out and show hotspot links to other URLs. This viewer works on both Macintosh and Windows.

About Flashpix

The Flashpix format is a multi-resolution digital image file format, which offers an ideal way to view and print high-quality, high-resolution images in real time. The Flashpix format is a trademark of the Digital Imaging Group (DIG). Visit the DIG web site at www.digitalimaging.org for more information.

The iSeeMedia ZOOM Image Server is installed on a Web server to deliver the Flashpix images. For more information, visit the our Web site at www.iSeeMedia.com.

Minimum system requirements

The following minimum hardware and software are needed to use the iSeeMedia ZOOM 2D Viewer.

Windows

  • Pentium® computer running Windows 95, or Pentium 166 computer running Windows NT
  • 16MB RAM for Windows 95, 32 MB RAM for Windows NT
  • Any Java 1.1 compliant browser such as Netscape® Navigator 4.75 or higher, or Internet Explorer® 4.5 or higher
  • 65,000 colors minimum (24-bit true color recommended)

Macintosh

  • Macintosh OS 8.5
  • 14MB RAM allocated to the Web browser
  • Any Java 1.1 compliant browser such as Netscape® Navigator 4.75 or higher, or Internet Explorer® 4.5 or higher.
  • Macintosh OS Runtime for Java 2.2 (MRJ 2.2) is required. The MRJ 2.2 is available from Apple's web site.
  • 65,000 colors minimum (24-bit true color recommended)

Installation Notes

  • The first time you launch the iSeeMedia ZOOM 2D Viewer, you may be required to install the Microsoft Virtual Machine if you are using the Internet Explorer browser.

  • For Macintosh users running Netscape Navigator, the following HTML source is necessary in order for the applet to run properly on this platform. Copy and paste the HTML source directly into your web page.

Using the iSeeMedia ZOOM 2D Viewer

Note: Java viewers do not support printing.

Toolbar Button Function Keyboard Shortcut
Zoom In
Zooms into the image. Click Zoom In, then click the mouse anywhere in the viewer window. Keep clicking the mouse button to continue to zoom in.

Note: If you try to zoom past the maximum image resolution, the Maximum Zoom icon appears in the upper left corner of the viewer window.

Page Up
Zoom Out
Zooms out of the image. Click Zoom Out, then click tje mouse anywhere in the viewer window. Keep clicking the mouse button to continue to zoom out. Page Down
Pan Image
Lets you click the image and drag to view a new segment of the image. Use the Arrow keys to move 3 pixels at a time. Use SHIFT + Arrow keys to move 15 pixels at a time.
Initial View
Returns a Flashpix image to initial view after you've zoomed in. V
Show Hotspots
Shows any hotspot links. H
Magnifying Glass
Shows the area within the box at the next zoom level of the image. Click and drag the mouse to a magnify the desired section.  
Information
Shows an HTML document with information about the iSeeMedia ZOOM 2D Viewer. I

Note: When the viewer is downloading information from the iSeeMedia ZOOM Image Server, an hourglass symbol appears. Press ESC to stop downloading information from the server.


Enhancements from previous version

The previous version of the iSeeMedia ZOOM 2D Viewer was limited to 99 hotspots. You can now have upto 225 hotspots on an image.

Known Issues

Ensure that you do not allow anonymous users to view images from the iSeeMedia ZOOM Image Server Administration pages. Allowing anonymous viewing will not launch the authentication dialog.
