General Issues

At release time, the items listed below are the known issues. For late-breaking updates to this information, visit the iseemedia website at www.iseemedia.com.

Sound file compression

For best results, use Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) codec compression for your WAV sound files. Reality Studio and the Zoom Viewers do not support IMA ADPCM codec compression at this time.

Movie files and QuickTime

  • Microsoft's AVI movies are optimized for efficient memory use on Windows, however, the Zoom Viewer does not currently support AVI movies for viewing on Macintosh.

  • QuickTime movies are best suited for Macintosh. Reality Studio and the Zoom Viewer (Plug-in version) support QuickTime movies if QuickTime is installed on the user's system.

Animated GIFs

You can use animated GIFs for viewing on Windows. However, this format provides low color resolution, low compression, and no sound.

Viewer 5.0--Java version (for panoramas)

For the latest information on delivering content with this version of the Zoom Viewer, see the Developer section on the iseemedia website at www.iseemedia.com.

Flashpix vistas and the Zoom Viewer--Java version

When exporting Flashpix images, the Java Applet requires the Zoom Image Server. To view the content on the Java Viewers, you must have JVM (Java Virtual Machine) installed on your computer.

Large video files

When working with large video files, your preview may load slowly.

Running Reality Studio in Guest mode

When running Reality Studio, we recommend that you are logged on as an Administrator. Running under Guest mode may limit Reality Studio functionality.

Netscape Navigator 7.1

Netscape Navigator is supported by Reality Studio, however, MP3 files may pause when they are viewed in this version of Netscape. Also, under Windows XP Professional, Netscape may not display AVI formats properly. Also, when exporting the world map, Netscape Navigator cannot display it.

Running Vista Organizer after installing Reality Studio

If you have Vista Organizer installed on your system, once Reality Studio is installed, the link to Photovista Panorama is changed in the system registry of your computer. To fix this, launch Vista Organizer. You will be asked to locate "pvista.exe" file. Once this file is located, Vista Organizer will function properly.

Creating a tour with many video files

If your tour consists of many video files, it may not be displayed properly if each video file has a different frame rate. We recommend using videos with the same frame rate to ensure your tour being presented properly.

Older version of software on your computer.

We recommend that any older version of Reality Studio, Photovista Panorama and Photovista 3D Objects be uninstalled before installing the newer versions.
